PiMP #3 Scene 4

with terms

In the last scene we practiced at the third PiMP session, Mike practiced interacting with unfriendly strangers (re-enacting a real event that he feels he didn't handle well when it happened).

Why I practiced this scene

In real life, while I was Robin-Hooding (putting change in expired parking meters so people would not get ticketed by the city), a man asked me if I had a permit to solicit money. The content of the conversation was essentially that he didn't want us allowing cars to park in front of his store so long that other customers could not park there, and that he thought our mention of ways for people to donate to the Robin Hood fund was soliciting money. But the important thing is that the conversation got angry and heated quickly, including my reactions.

I did not like that I participate in the raised voices and passionate-and-hence-not-very-well-thought-out arguments. I wanted to practice staying calm under pressure of angry people yelling at me.
